Why piercing deserves its own criteria
You don't choose a piercing the way you choose a tattoo. You are not looking for a style, you are looking for someone who masters an area — ear cartilage, septum, navel, nipple, tongue, a microdermal — and who works with the right jewellery in the right material. A piercer who does helix piercings all day is not necessarily the one to trust with an industrial.
That is why on KIPIK, searching for a piercer does not go through the tattoo filters. It has its own.
Search by body area, jewellery and material
- Body area: ear (lobe, helix, tragus, daith, conch, industrial, rook), face (septum, nostril, eyebrow, labret, medusa, bridge), body (navel, nipple, surface, microdermal), mouth and tongue.
- Jewellery type: labret, ring, circular barbell, straight barbell, curved barbell, surface bar, dermal anchor.
- Material: implant-grade titanium ASTM F-136, 316L surgical steel, 14 or 18 carat gold, niobium, glass, bioplast for piercings still healing.
- Distance: radius of 5 to 200 km, or the whole country.
- Real availability, from the piercer's calendar, not from a "contact us" note.
Hygiene, visible before you book
Every verified piercer profile shows their hygiene and sterilisation protocol: single-use equipment, autoclave, traceability of the jewellery fitted, disinfection of the station between two clients. This is not a statement of good intent: profile verification requires a valid business identifier, professional liability insurance and a hygiene training certificate — the training that is mandatory to practise piercing in France.
A filter lets you show verified profiles only. Listed profiles, built from public sources, are marked as such and carry no such guarantee.
Book, then follow the healing
- You send your request from the profile: the area, the jewellery you want, your constraints (nickel allergy, hearing aid, sport…).
- The piercer replies with a quote that states the jewellery, the material and the price of the piercing — not a vague package.
- You book and pay securely: card, SEPA direct debit, or in instalments via Klarna. Bancontact in Belgium.
- Healing follow-up stays in the messaging: aftercare instructions, the reminder for the check-up appointment, the jewellery change once healing allows it.

Does a piercer need mandatory training?
Yes. In France, practising piercing requires training in hygiene and sanitation rules, and a declaration to the prefecture or the regional health agency (ARS). KIPIK verified profiles have provided that certificate.
Which material for a first piercing?
Implant-grade titanium is the most common choice for an initial piercing: it contains no nickel and it is light. The piercer confirms depending on the area and your skin — the material filter is there to find those who offer it.
Can I book a jewellery change?
Yes, from the piercer's profile, just like a piercing. The quote states the jewellery and the material.
Do piercers pay more than tattoo artists on KIPIK?
No. The professional plans are identical, at the same prices. Piercing is not a second-class audience.
