Search by style, not by luck
Finding a tattoo artist on Instagram means scrolling through hundreds of photos without knowing who is available, at what price, or how far away. KIPIK flips the logic: you describe what you are looking for, and the map only shows the artists who match.
The first filter is style. Realism, blackwork, fine line, Japanese, neo-traditional, dotwork, geometric, ornamental, lettering, old school — each family breaks down into sub-styles, up to ten levels of precision. A fine-line botanical specialist is not a realism artist: the filter knows that.
Then comes distance: an adjustable radius of 5 to 200 km around you, or the whole country if you are willing to travel for the right artist. Then budget, urgency and real availability — not a "contact me" note, an actual calendar.

Many people know what they want without having the vocabulary. That is what PIK, the KIPIK assistant, is for: at the top of the search, you explain your project in your own words — "something thin on the forearm, nature-ish, not too big" — and it asks a few questions to turn that into a style, a body area, a budget. Then it connects you with the artists who match. A conversation, not a form.
See the design on your skin before you book
The augmented-reality preview projects the drawing onto the chosen area through your phone camera. You resize it with a finger, rotate it, calibrate it, and the "fit to my body" function follows the contours. It is not a final render — only the artist will do that — but it settles the "will it look too big?" question before the first appointment.
Verified profiles, not just listings
The directory contains two kinds of profiles. Verified profiles belong to registered professionals who have provided a valid business identifier, professional liability insurance and a hygiene training certificate. Listed profiles are built from public sources: they exist so you don't miss an artist, but they carry no guarantee. A filter lets you show verified profiles only.
Book, pay, and follow the project
- You send your project to the artist from their profile, with your references and the body area.
- They reply with a detailed quote, available as a PDF and signed electronically.
- You pay the deposit securely — card, SEPA direct debit, or three or four instalments via Klarna. Bancontact in Belgium. Your card details never pass through KIPIK.
- Project messaging keeps everything in one place: the drawing, the changes, the appointment, the aftercare instructions.
No artist in mind? Post your project
Project listings reverse the search: you describe what you want, with the style, the budget and the urgency, and the artists reply to you with a quote. Seven days to accept, then the listing closes on its own.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to search for a tattoo artist?
No. Search, portfolios and profiles can be browsed without signing up, at app.kipik.ink or in the app. An account is only requested when you send a project or book.
How are results ranked?
By relevance to your filters, then by distance. There is no paid placement: an artist cannot buy their position in the results.
What happens if the artist doesn't reply?
A sent project stays open for seven days. Without a reply, it closes and you can send it to other artists, or post it as a listing so that they come to you.
What about a piercing?
